BEIJING, Jan 21 (APP): The year 2012 will see further strengthening of Pakistan and China media to media relations, stated a senior official here.The Deputy Director-General, Information Department, MFA Jiang Yu while speaking informally at a reception to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Year Thursday evening, appreciated the excellent coordination that her office has with APP Beijing Correspondent.She also mentioned the impact of APP’s positive news coverage on further strengthening the Sino-Pak relations.
US vows mutually respectful Pakistan ties; states civilian aid flows unaffected –
WASHINGTON, Jan 21 (APP): The United States “remains committed to a strong, mutually respectful” relationship with Pakistan and Washington’s civilian assistance for the South Asian country has not been affected in the aftermath of November 26 strikes on Pakistani borderposts, the State Department stated Friday.“We think about bilateral U.S. civilian assistance to be an important component of that relationship and believe it can help Pakistan become a more prosperous, stable, and democratic state, which serves the national interests of both the United States and Pakistan,” the Office of Spokesperson Victoria Nuland stated in response to a question taken at the daily briefing. “Civilian assistance to Pakistan continuesand has not been interrupted since the tragic November 26 incident,” the spokesperson noted.
BEIJING, Jan 21 (APP) : China believes the Iran nuclear issue should be resolved peacefully through dialogues and negotiations, and that sanctions and military means will not fundamentally address the problem, stated Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hailong.Wu Hailong reiterated China’s stance while exchanging views on Iran nuclear issue in speaks with Ali Baqeri, the visiting deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council here on Friday. He stated the top priority is that Iran should resume speaks as soon as possible with the group of six international mediators, which includes the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany, and strengthen cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Pak faculty member earns distinction to teach PhD scholars in China –
BEIJING, Jan 21 (APP): Dr. Muhammad Junaid Khan, Assistant Professor National University of Science and Technology Rawalpindi earned the honour of becoming first Faculty Member from Pakistan to teach the PhD level students of top Chinese Universities.Dr. Junain Khan is teaching PhD students in Chinese higher learning institutions such as Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Telecommunication and Technology,Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Xian Jiaotong University. KARACHI, Jan 20 (APP): Star off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has become world’s highest-ranked spinner after bowling Pakistan to a 10-wicket win over number-one ranked England in the first Test which ended in three days in Dubai on Thursday. The 34-year-old from Faisalabad not only won the man of the match award for his figures of seven for 55 and three for 42, but has also achieved a number-three ranking in the latest ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers which were released on Friday morning by International Cricket Council (ICC).
