Icon Immortalized:  Kobe Bryant's Statue Unveiled by Lakers"

The Los Angeles Lakers unveiled a 19-foot bronze statue of Kobe Bryant outside their downtown arena. 

The statue depicts Bryant in his iconic No. 8 jersey, raising his right index finger after his historic 81-point game in 2006 

Vanessa Bryant announced plans for two additional statues, one featuring Bryant in his No. 24 jersey and another depicting Bryant and his daughter Gianna. 

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Lakers legends and team officials, celebrating Bryant's enduring impact on the city and the sport of basketball. 

The statue joins others in Star Plaza outside the Staples Center, commemorating Bryant's legendary career and contributions to the Lakers organization and the city of Los Angeles.
